Following on from his Christmas 2020 EP Winter, Michael Farmer (a.k.a. one half of The Cold Spells) returns with an album: Things Do Things Without Thinking.

"Things Do Things Without Thinking is an exercise in maximalism which was, saving a couple of songs, created in three stints: all MIDI was programmed early 2018, all audio recorded during early lockdown of 2020, and it was all mixed in the summer of 2021. Things get in the way."

Broadening the canvas from the EP, TDTWT brings nods to Zappa, the systems music of Reich or Nyman, a more electro-math Cardiacs or Soft Machine, with dazzling cascades of dense MIDI, jump cuts, time changes, sonic gear shifts and nosebleed beats.
