Black Bag

A 2 track power pop single (6m 47s) — released January 27th 2014 on Gare du Nord Records

Gare du Nord Records are pleased to announce the release of a special single edit of the song "Black Bag" from Rotifer's album "The Cavalry Never Showed Up" as a digital single, coupled with brand new song "Queen's Drive".

Featuring Paul Rains from Allo Darlin' on lapsteel, this "pivotal track" on the album (according to website Pennyblackmusic) was originally recorded in an improvised studio jam and has now been condensed into three-and-a-half minutes of pop edginess.

New track "Queen's Drive", on the other hand, is a tribute to less-than-glamourous hotel life in London's Finsbury Park area, including an unavoidable local pop-cultural reference. The song features Canterbury's own Will Glanfield on saxophone and might possibly signal a danceable new direction for Rotifer's next album.
